Green Initiative

Green Purchase

Rialto’s sourcing practices advocate environmentally and socially responsible purchasing to minimise environmental impacts. The Green Procurement Policy promotes the concept of life cycle costing, avoidance of hazardous materials, and low embodied energy materials. It covers the purchase of packaging materials, raw materials, maintenance consumables, fuels, building /construction materials, and office consumables.

  • Rialto has switched to solar energy with the installation of 270 KWP Rooftop Solar Plant, which has helped CO2 emission reduction of about 329 tonnes.
  • Rialto has built a greenhouse inside the factory.
  • Rainwater harvesting is a major source of water at Rialto. Like its rejects, nothing is allowed to go waste.
  • Recycling of water is done at the in house Water treatment plant, which is used for gardening. In fact, there is ZERO discharge from the manufacturing site.
  • Solar lights have been installed in the common area.
  • Sprinklers have been installed in the garden area regulating the use of water.

Rialto’s Green Procurement Process is fine-tuned to meet the requirements of its Design for Environment policy. It focuses on increasing the recycled content in raw materials, eliminating chemicals of concern, and increasing the use of biodegradable materials.

Efforts are made to increase the percentage of local purchases to ensure stock management and to reduce its Scope 3 impact due to inbound transportation.
